Ongoing Event : Nutrition Class Group
Program Offered By Fitness Fusion 360
This program is an 8-week program. During
these 8 weeks, participants meet with a
Nutrition Manager Consultant three times -
one hour at the beginning of the program,
one hour during the program, and one hour at
the end of 12 weeks. Participants are asked
to keep a food log and an exercise log; they
learn how to analyze what they eat and
discover the number of calories they should
eat to achieve balance; they learn how to
budget their time and fit exercise into
their schedules; they learn ways to reduce
stress and why it is important to do so.
When participants have completed the 8
weeks, they will posses the tools needed to
be successful in long-term "fat" loss and
health. The program also includes three
individual consultations: The first
individual consultation is after the first
group meeting. This meeting concentrates on
individualizing the participants exercise
program; discussing the participant's goals
and objectives; and teaching the participant
how to use the diet analysis software. The
second individual consultation occurs after
the fourth group meeting. This consultation
focuses on how the participant is doing. The
third individual consultation occurs at week
12 (4 weeks after the group program). This
consultation concentrates on how the
participant is doing after the program
(repeat body composition measures, etc).

The Anthony Giordano Gallery at Dowling College Presents
Infrastructures : Photographs by Bryan Whitney September 7 -
October 12, 2008 at the The Anthony Giordano Gallery at
Dowling College. Reception on September 21, 1:00PM-4:00PM.
Q&A with Bryan Whitney at 2:00PM. The Anthony Giordano
Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of photographs
by Bryan Whitney. Mr. Whitney's images of communication
towers emphasize the formal complexity and strangeness of
some of the most distinctive structures in the contemporary
landscape. In his negative images, the presence of these
industrial structures exude a sense of mystery and enigmatic
power that belies their practical role in modern
telecommunications. These works pay homage to the invisible,
almost animistic, authority that these technological
structures wield over so much of contemporary life and to
the elegance of their construction. This exhibition also
features a photo installation in the Marjorie Fortunoff
Mayrock Conservatory at the Rudolph campus.
Located at the corner of Idle Hour Boulevard and Biltmore
Avenue in Oakdale, The Anthony Giordano Gallery at Dowling
College is dedicated to exhibiting and promoting
contemporary, innovative and experimental work by
established, unaffiliated and emerging artists as well as
artists primarily from the New York tri-state metropolitan
area. Through exhibitions and educational programs, the
Gallery reflects, reinforces, and complements the curricular
dimensions of the Visual Arts Department and addresses the
cultural life and enrichment of the Dowling College
community, the general public, artists, and the Oakdale
community at large.
Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from
10:00AM-4:00PM and Sunday 12:00PM-4:00PM. Admission is free.
