Ongoing Event : Nutrition Class Group
Program Offered By Fitness Fusion 360
This program is an 8-week program. During
these 8 weeks, participants meet with a
Nutrition Manager Consultant three times -
one hour at the beginning of the program,
one hour during the program, and one hour at
the end of 12 weeks. Participants are asked
to keep a food log and an exercise log; they
learn how to analyze what they eat and
discover the number of calories they should
eat to achieve balance; they learn how to
budget their time and fit exercise into
their schedules; they learn ways to reduce
stress and why it is important to do so.
When participants have completed the 8
weeks, they will posses the tools needed to
be successful in long-term "fat" loss and
health. The program also includes three
individual consultations: The first
individual consultation is after the first
group meeting. This meeting concentrates on
individualizing the participants exercise
program; discussing the participant's goals
and objectives; and teaching the participant
how to use the diet analysis software. The
second individual consultation occurs after
the fourth group meeting. This consultation
focuses on how the participant is doing. The
third individual consultation occurs at week
12 (4 weeks after the group program). This
consultation concentrates on how the
participant is doing after the program
(repeat body composition measures, etc).

Chai Found Music Workshop on
Friday February 22, 2008 at 8:00PM at the Charles B. Wang
Center, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY.
Internationally acclaimed musical ensemble from Taiwan
brings its unique sound to the New York Metro area.
Internationally acclaimed Taiwanese Chamber Music Group to
perform at Stony Brook's Wang Center bringing traditional
Chinese Music into the 21st century for the Lunar New Year
Celebration. Combining the elements of classical Chinese
chamber music with modern compositions, the group
brilliantly bridges the gap between Eastern and Western
cultures and traditional and contemporary music. Admission
is $15 for the general public; $10 for students and $25 for
VIP Sponsorship (priority and reserved seating). One of the
most treasured and innovative musical ensembles from Taiwan,
the Chai Found Music Workshop is supported by the Council of
Cultural Affairs of Taiwan and the Taipei Cultural Center of
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, has
performed extensively throughout Asia, Europe and the United
States to critical acclaim.
"Chai Found is a wonderful addition to our New Year
festivities," says Stella Shieh, whose company Zen Appetít
coordinates performances in the US of artists based in Asia.
"These musicians have brilliantly combined classical Chinese
chamber music, known as "sizhu music," with modern
compositions, effectively bridging the gap between Eastern
and Western cultures and traditional and contemporary music.
This is a concert not to be missed by those who appreciate
music that is both highly sophisticated and simplistically
elegant." Zen Appetít will allocate a portion of the ticket
sales to Chinese Cultural Programs, Inc., a 501c3 NY-based
organization dedicated to Asian cultural outreach. Using
classical Chinese instruments, the erhu, the di, the pipa,
the guzheng, the yangqin, and the ruanxian, Chai Found has
not only sought to cultivate the traditional side of its
music, but also to provide composers with a unique

tradition. Critics have praised the ensemble’s ability to

Chai Found Music Workshop on
Saturday February 23, 2008 8:00PM at the Flushing Town Hall
Auditorium, 137-35 Northern Boulevard, Flushing NY. Internationally
acclaimed musical ensemble from Taiwan brings its unique
sound to the New York Metro area. Combining the elements of
classical Chinese chamber music with modern compositions,
the group brilliantly bridges the gap between Eastern and
Western cultures and traditional and contemporary music.
Admission is $20 for the general public and $16 members. One
of the most treasured and innovative musical ensembles from
Taiwan, the Chai Found Music Workshop is supported by the
Council of Cultural Affairs of Taiwan and the Taipei
Cultural Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in
New York, has performed extensively throughout Asia, Europe
and the United States to critical acclaim.
