moonlight. That’s just the beginning, my friends. If you
dare to come, Gateway’s Estate, with Civil War era

a bat or two or three. The tale is told of a horrifying
murderer and victim who still haunt the premises. When and

die. It may not be your choice to stay or run screaming into
the night, traveling with trepidation, heart beating fast,

"The Family Meeting,
Talking to Each Other about the Issues of Aging" Seminar on
Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 6:00PM-8:00PM in the
Fortunoff Hall Ballroom of Dowling College, Oakdale, NY.
Getting older seems more complicated every day. Do we have
enough money for retirement? What if we need unexpected long
term care? How do we leave a legacy for our children and
grandchildren? Faced with an overwhelming number of choices,
the elderly and their families need a plan; and creating
this plan requires a strong collaboration between older
parents and their adult kids. It's not easy; these emotional
issues often involve "the things people don't want to talk
about." In this seminar, you'll learn about "The Family
Meeting" concept, designed to help families save time,
money; and sometimes the families, themselves.
Key topics include:
- Maximizing financial resources
- Assuring that elder care needs of daily living are met
- Stress-reducing techniques for family conversations
- Putting essential documents in place
- Fulfilling inheritance goals and personal legacies
This conference is presented by The Center for
Intergenerational Policy and Practice at Dowling College,
with the sustaining sponsor as Continental Home Loans. This
is the first in a series of free lectures given by the
Center for Intergenerational Policy and Practice at Dowling
College. Please note that .2 CEU credits are available for a
fee of $10. Light refreshments will be served. For more
information please call Kelly Kazemier, Director of
Communications at 631-244-3318 or reply at
