The Long Island Association (LIA) is the leading business organization in the Long Island region with a membership is comprised of small and large businesses, technology and manufacturing companies, universities, financial service firms, banks, credit.
Founded in 1926, the mission of the Long Island Association is to support growth, economic development and infrastructure investments on Long Island in order to create more jobs and more rental housing and to advocate for tax reforms and regulatory relief to improve the local economy and strengthen our business community. The Long Island Association:
- Actively advocates the interests of, and promotes cooperation among, the business, labor, educational, scientific, technology, not-for profit and civic communities
- Seeks to create and retain balanced economic opportunities and jobs in a clean, healthy and safe environment
- As Long Island's Chamber of Commerce, provides valuable services and programs/representation to its membership organizations, particularly the small business community
