American Chamber Ensemble Presents Music of the Americas: Part 2 at Hofstra University Monroe Lecture Center Theater in Hempstead, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
Music of the Americas: Part 2 will present the second part of ACE's season-long exploration of the music of North and South America, as well as those who emigrated to this country. It will feature ACE commissioned works by contemporary composers Andres Maldonado (Hofstra faculty) and Edward Thomas, as well as the U.S.’s Dana Wilson, Argentina’s Astor Piazzolla, Mexico’s Manuel Ponce and Canada’s Srul Irving Glick. The concert will be a multi-media presentation, making for an immersive experience, introducing the concertgoer to a different way to experience the performances.
Performers will include ACE members, pianist Marilyn Lehman, clarinetist and assistant ACE Director Mindy Dragovich, violinists Eriko Sato and Sunghae Anna Lim, violist Lois Martin and cellist Chris Finckel. Special guests will be soprano Karen Lehman DiMartino, The ACE Clarinet Ensemble, the East End Women's Choir, directed by Kamilla Ozman (http://www.eastendwomenschoir.com/) and Hofstra Student Award winner, soprano Miranda Wysocki.
