Description: |
Why Do People Follow Orders? A Discussion of Stanley Milgram's Obedience Experiments at Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Long Island in Glen Cove, New York.
A discussion of psychologist Stanley Milgram's 1961 "Obedience" Experiments. Three months after the start of the Eichmann Trial in Jerusalem in 1961, Stanley Milgram, a young associate professor in social psychology at Yale began a series of experiments to explain why people follow orders. His “Obedience” experiments remain controversial today. Following a screening of Milgram's own documentary film, Dr. Tritter will discuss the experiments, Milgram's results and how scholars understand Milgram's work today. |
