Tepee Ted of The Traveling Wilderness Museum: Connecting Children To Nature at Ward Melville Heritage Organization Educational and Cultural Center in Stony Brook, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Connect your children with fun filled days of learning how Native children, of long ago, learned the skills and knowledge necessary to live comfortable lives in the wilderness. Taking place inside Stony Brook Village Center’s Educational and Cultural Center, students will be introduced to the bows and arrows, as well as the role story-telling played in Native American experience. Hands-on activities include touching deer skins and bones and learning the ways item of daily use were made. Indian drums, games and jewelry from, wood, shells and beads complete the adventure. |
