The North Fork Environmental Council on Long Island, New York is a grassroots organization is dedicated to the preservation of land, sea and quality of life on Long Island's North Fork. Incorporated in 1972, the North Fork Environmental Council has a successful track record of over 30 years in raising public awareness of key environmental issues, increasing public participation in important town meetings and write-in campaigns and continuing the fight to protect the environment in Riverhead and Southold towns. The North Fork Environmental Council has 1,200 members and supporters.
The mission of the North Fork Environmental Council is increasing public awareness of key issues including educating the public and public officials about important environmental and quality of life; being an objective voice of reason; helping the public's voice to be heard and providing input on key policies and legislation.
