Long Island Infant Developmental Program has been proudly helping children with special needs for over 26 years. The program began in 1984 as the first exclusively home-based program in Nassau County, servicing three children. We provide early intervention and preschool services to eligible children from birth through age 5 and their families. Long Island Infant Developmental Program is proud that we have been servicing children with developmental delays and their families for over 25 years. To date, we have serviced thousands of children, and our services reach children and their families throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.
When a child begins to receive early intervention or preschool services, for some it is the first time that there is an indication that he may have lasting developmental delays. For others, it may be extra help that a child needs for a short time, to catch up to his peers. In either situation, we know that it can be a trying time for families. Long Island Infant Developmental Program strives to help each individual family as they come to terms with these issues. Our teachers, therapists and other specialists are sensitive to this fact and provide services with dedication, care and concern for each child's individual needs.
Long Island Infant Developmental Program provides a full array of evaluation, educational, therapeutic and support services. Services are planned and delivered to address the needs of the child and family in individual and group settings. Services can include early intervention and preschool evaluations, speech/language, hearing and/or feeding therapy, special education, special education itinerant teacher (SEIT), occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work services, psychological services and nutrition services. We also offer on-site developmental groups, individual/family counseling and support groups, service coordination and family support services.

All services are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to eligible families.
