Independent Group Home Living (GHL) on Long Island, New York provides lifetime alternatives for people with developmental disabilities such as programs, services and support. Independent Group Home Living recognizes that developmentally disabled people are faced with difficult challenges on a daily basis and is dedicated to helping the families we serve with programs and services designed to help.
The mission of Independent Group Home Living is to provide programs, services and support for people with developmental disabilities so they can realize their full potential as human beings and contributing members of their community. In concert with the State of New York, community leaders and the families of those we serve, continue to develop innovative and accommodating programs, services and supports to promote the personal growth of the people we serve; to seek progressive legislation and sufficient funding in order to provide the highest quality of care, and in turn to protect the right of our constituents and their families to access appropriate care and to focus on its position as a leader in the field develop strategies to have a positive influence on the future of services for people with developmental disabilities. Affiliates of Independent Group Home Living:
- New Interdisciplinary School, acreative learning center for children, their families, and the community
- Angela's House, an association for Technology Dependent Children assisting families and caring for medically frail children
- The Flower Barn, a nursery and garden center supplying plants and flowers to the community
