Theatre Night at Deer Park High School - A Night of Celebration of the Dramatic Arts at Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Long Island, New York.
Theatre Night in Deer Park will take place on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 7:00PM in the Deer Park High School auditorium. It will be a night of celebration of the dramatic arts in Deer Park. In addition to showcasing theatrical activities in grades 2 through 12, it will feature a very special appearance by Judith Malina, founder of the Living Theatre and noted Hollywood actress. Ms Malina will talk about using theatre as a means of social change and members of the Living Theatre will give a performance of excerpts from her recent play, “Here We Are.”
Members of the Deer Park High School chapter of the International Thespian Society the honor society for theatre will be inducted, and members of the Living Theatre will also hold a workshop for students after the ceremony. Two other speakers Mrs. Eva Demyen, Deer Park Superintendent and Ron Becker, president of the Deer Park Arts Council will also address the audience.
All students, parents and community members are invited. |
