Shakespeare Returns to Sylvester Manor, with Much Ado About Nothing Saturday-Sunday, July 20-21, 2013. Doors will open at 6:00PM, the show will start promptly at 6:30PM. Bring a blankets, beach chairs, and a picnic supper to fully enjoy the performance.
Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespeare's classic comedy about two pairs of lovers the young, sweet couple Claudio and Hero and the older, wiser Benedick and Beatrice. Benedick and Beatrice have spent their lives engaged in a "merry war" of verbal jousting, but over the course of the play their friends conspire to bring the two, who are clearly meant for one another, together in marriage.
Drew Foster, Director: Directing Fellowship, Chautauqua Theater: Arcadia, R/X, Winter's Tale. Juilliard School: Blue Window, King Lear, Hamlet. Actor: 1st National Tour, West Side Story (director Arthur Laurents); Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Island Shakespeare Festival, Florida Studio Theater, Red Bull Theater, and company member of the Asolo Rep (5 seasons). Upcoming: West Side Story (MUNY) and The Lasy Goodbye (Old Globe director Alex Timbers).
