Description: |
This workshop is meant to explore ways to refine a seasoned practitioner's skills in yoga. Danielle will describe the main obstacles or "hidden locks" that prevent students from experiencing the lightness, grace and strength in their practice.
Learn tips and techniques that can help you lift up, jump back and through in your seated vinyasa. By breaking down the movements step by step, Danielle can help you find the actions needed to enhance your flight. We will work on various techniques for jumping back, jumping through, and other challenging transitions in the primary series of Ashtanga yoga. We will also discuss the illusive "bandhas" and how to intergrate them into your asana practice.
Danielle has been practicing Ashtanga yoga since 2003. She has received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification and is continuing her education in all aspects of the practice as she works towards her 500 hour certification. Danielle is committed to a daily, early morning practice as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. After developing a deep love and understanding of all the aspects of the practice, she realized it was time to share it with others.
Danielle has traveled to Mysore, India for two extended stays in the winter of 2010 and 2011 where she had the privilege of studying with Sharath Rangaswamy, the grandson of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Saraswati at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute. During her time there she also studied Sanskrit, chanting and philosophy to deepen her knowledge of the ancient practice. She is a dedicated instructor and a devoted student of yoga, embodying the spirit through its physical expression. |
