Lifting the Barriers of Belief: How Politics Can Misuse Faith To Deny Civil and Constitutional Rights at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., yet some groups within the United States, such as gays and lesbians, still lack basic civil rights. Join Reverend Roger Williams for a discussion of how religious beliefs can be misused in politics to deny equality to these groups. Reverend Williams is a pastor of the First Baptist Church of Glen Cove, New York, President of the Glen Cove Chapter of the NAACP and a Board Director at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center.
