Description: |
Getting out the the Dark, The Secrets of Light For Children Ages 8-10 at the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center in Bridgehampton, Long Island, New York. Leader: Lindsey Rohrbach, SoFo Nature Educator.
Without light, life would be impossible. Learning how light works enables us to understand how the natural world functions. Join Lindsey as she performs some scientific experiments that explain some of the basic concepts of light that we take for granted. In this workshop children will learn why ponds and rivers look shallower than they actually are, the differences in how light bounces off a variety of surfaces, what part of the spectrum the human eye is able to see, and how we can bend light waves. Workshop attendees will participate in scientific investigations. Limited enrollment, reserve now. |
