Description: |
Nature Walk In Vineyard Field presented by the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center in Bridgehampton, Long Island, New York. Leader: Crystal Possehl, SoFo Nature Educator.
Join Crystal on this leisurely nature walk in Vineyard Field to see what surprises are in store as she visits the various ponds, explores the woodland edge, looks for hibernating insects, and maybe some early migrating birds. March is an interesting month in Vineyard Field because it is different every year. Sometimes it is covered in inches or feet of snow and ice; sometimes it floods, creating a productive spring swamp; sometimes it is mowed like a lawn to control invasive plants, revealing rodent tunnels, old rabbit nests, or the remains of a hawk’s dinner. All ages are welcome to enjoy the many surprises in the field. |
