Description: |
Holli Ross: Holli Ross has performed in top clubs from New Orleans’ Snug Harbor to NY’s Blue Note. She has recorded extensively with various vocal ensembles that have led to appearances in Germany, France, and Japan not to mention appearances at the Monterey Jazz Festival and the JVC Jazz Festival. Holli is a published lyricist with ASCAP and GEMA. Her songs have been recorded by jazz artists, Mark Murphy, Meredith D’Ambrosio, Janis Seigel and the Count Basie Orchestra. Holli has recorded or performed with Jon Faddis, Claudio Roditi, Romero Lumbambo, Bucky Pizzarelli, Ted Rosenthal, Don Braden, Eddie Monteiro, Randy Sandke, Bob MIntzer, Wolfgang Lackerschmid, and Bill Charlap. Most notably, Holli has just released a solo recording, "You'll See" on Miles High Records that is gathering rave reviews nationally and abroad. Critic, Brent Black says, "Ross steps out with a solo release that is a captivating and inventive display of everything good about straight ahead vocal jazz…. [Her] phrasing and inflection allow her to work magic with the material". Reviewer, Chris Spector says, "a vocal talent to take seriously…Ross is a must for the classic vocal fan bemoaning the current state of the art. Well done".
Holli conducts clinics nationally and abroad and teaches extensively in the New York area, most notably at Hofstra University, Montclair State University and Mannes College of Music. She was also involved with and has performed for the International Association of Jazz Educators. |
