Introduction to Japanese Language and Culture at the Kings Park Branch of the Smithtown Library.
Are you thinking about a trip to Japan or do you have Japanese business associates, friends, or relatives? Or are you just curious about the people who brought us manga, karate and sushi? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you'll want to join us for this fun and educational 3-session series. Eriko Sato, PhD, who is the author of Japanese for Dummies and Japanese Demyistified, a Lecturer at Stony Brook University as well as a native of Japan, will cover the basics of the Japanese language. By the end of this series, you will be able to hold simple conversations in Japanese and write your name in Japanese script while also having become better familiarized with Japanese culture. Handouts will be provided. Just bring a notebook and a pen. Dewa kurasu de (see you in class).
The Smithtown Special Library District consists of four buildings; Smithtown Main, the Commack Branch (temporarily closed), the Kings Park Branch and the Nesconset Branch. |
