The Historical Society of Islip Hamlet will hold its 19th Annual Holiday House Tour on Sunday, December 2, 2012 12:00PM-4:00PM. The tour includes several historically or architecturally significant homes decorated for the holidays; tour guides in period dress; a reception in one of Islip's fine, historic churches where light refreshments will be served and entertainment will be provided; and a 50/50 raffle and Chinese auction. Please donate new, unwrapped toys for the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots".
The Historical Society of Islip Hamlet was formed in 1992 with the mission to collect, catalogue, preserve and display the rich and diverse history of this unique south shore community.
The Purposes for which this Society is founded are to preserve, and work for the preservation of historical building, landmark, documents, records, photographs, artifacts, media, memorabilia, and other items of historical significance within the Hamlet of Islip. |
