Manetto Hill Jewish Center Sisterhood Glass Ribbon Project
Sisterhood has rescheduled the Glass Ribbon Event for December 5, 2012 in place of the Hanukkah party and game night we originally had scheduled there. We would like to dedicate this night to the memory of Debbie Eichen, who gave so much of herself not only to Sisterhood, but also to our synagogue. If you
don't know already, the project consists of receiving pieces of glass to put together on a template from Gary Rosenthal's studio, such as a mezuzah or a pair of Shabbat candlesticks. The works are then sent back to the artist's studio where they are melded together in the same pattern and then sold to customers.
This is free of charge, but if someone would like to purchase what they make, this is extra. This is a wonderful way to come together communally and make something meaningful that will benefit many others as well as honoring the memory of someone who personified dedication and perseverance in her everyday life as well as in her fight to beat cancer.
Manetto Hill Jewish Center is a Conservative Egalitarian congregation and is a proud member of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Large enough to serve you, small enough to know you. We are a growing community always seeking new members. We pride ourselves on our commitment to traditional Judaism, while rejoicing in our diversity and inclusiveness. |
