Halloween fun for the family. What is lurking in the woods this Halloween? The Center for Science Teaching and Learning will be celebrating Halloween with spooky fest, including our annual spooky walk through the woods. The wooded paths on the preserve will be transformed for Halloween, with eerie lighting, special effects and characters along the way. Perfectly spooky and a little scary. A not-so-spooky walk through the friendly forest is also available for younger children. The Woods are Haunted - This Spooky Walk is "very scary". This quarter mile hike through the woods will leave kids terrified. The walk features an abandoned cemetery where zombies have come to life and are in search of their favorite food brains. A group of hikers have entered the woods against our caution and have not returned. We need you to go in and find them, or what's left of them. Located on Long Island, this spooky walk and the not-so-spooky walk is a Nassau County favorite.
