Lumiere Ballet is pleased to announce their 15th season of performing the Nutcracker. Featuring award winning students and professional dancers.
The Nutcracker is based on E.T.A. Hoffman's tale The Nutcracker and Mouse King. The story was brought to life with the immortal score of Peter I. Tchaikovsky at the Maryinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia on December 18, 1892.
The enchantment of the Sugar Plum Fairy will come alive for children of all ages in this stirring production. Based on the original choreography of Marius Petipa (1892) and Vassily Vainonen (1934), artistic directors Svetlana Caton-Noble and Venti Petrov bring their knowledge and passion to the stage and allow the children to tell the story. The joy of the season comes to life as snow drifts gently down and the Snow Queen and Waltzing Snow Flakes perform for Clara and her prince.
Founded and directed by Svetlana Caton-Noble and Venti Petrov, Bay Shore based Lumiere Ballet encompasses a year round professional training program, summer intensive studies, and a performing company which presents fine works from the classical, romantic, and new, original repertoire at appearances throughout Long Island, New York City and the Tri-State area.
The cast includes Venti Petrov, internationally acclaimed artist and artistic co-director of Lumiere Ballet, Oksana Maslova, Former soloist of The Odessa National Opera House, Anton Kandaurov, Formerly with The Kiev National Opera House Ballet and the trainees and students of Lumiere Ballet's prestigious training program. |
