Donka - A Letter to Chekhov at Staller Center For the Arts, Stony Brook University.
The great magic of the circus pays homage to Russian playwright and physician Anton Chekhov in a show of visions, dancers, acrobats and jugglers. Donka is the latest creation of Daniele Finzi Pasca - already confirmed as a leading figure on the international theatre scene and author of unforgettable shows for Cirque Eloize and Cirque du Soleil.
In a stream-of-consciousness love-letter to Chekhov you'll see a dream-like world of performers portraying the parade of students, doctors and dreamers that populate Chekhov's literary landscape.
Donka is a theatrical work accompanied by the exotic sounds of old Russia. Come to a performance you will not soon forget.
An international cast animates the stage, while music spreads like a resonant carpet, recalling the atmosphere of far away Russia. |
