Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the Long Island Growers Market will once again be returning to Christopher Morley Park located at 500 Searingtown Road, in Roslyn North Hills. The Farmer's Market will run Wednesdays 7:00AM-1:00PM May 30 - November 21, 2013.
"I'm excited that Long Island Growers Market at Christopher Morley park can once again bring not only healthy farm-fresh produce to residents of Nassau County, but also to serve as a vibrant community gathering that reflects the surrounding neighborhood" said County Executive Mangano. "The combination of new and returning vendors, events and programs will provide a lively market experience week after week for our valued shoppers."
Provides an opportunity for local farmers to sell their produce directly to consumers. The produce is seasonal, locally grown, fresh-picked and reasonably priced. Other local products sold include juices, honey, jams, jellies, pickles, pies and breads.
Some items the Long Island Growers Market will offer include fruit, vegetables, olive oils, pickles, flowers, plants, artisans breads, soup stocks, home made soups, fresh roasted coffee, goat cheese, dairy products, jams and jellies, honey, raviolis, honey, pasta, home made sauces (pesto, tomato, etc.), seafood, baked goods from 5 different vendors, smoked meats, soups, salads, home made granola bars, fresh pickle vegetables, tapenade, honey, salts, dessert sauces, chutney, large choice of spices, stuffed breads, home made soaps, oils and dog treats. |
