The Greenport Maritime Festival will be hosted by the East End Seaport & Marine Foundation in partnership with the Village of Greenport. The Festival, which attracts over 40,000 people annually, features visits by Tall Ships, nautical arts and crafts, classic wooden boats, many activities for children and families, music, pirate shows, local produce and seafood, wines and craft beer, fireworks, and visits to Bug Light, our lighthouse.
The Greenport Village's three-day long waterside maritime festival serves to highlight and showcase Greenport's maritime culture and history. There will be activities and events centered around this rich history; with demonstrations, crafts and educational exhibits and of course walking access to our beautiful downtown shops, restaurants and commercial facilities in a festival-like atmosphere.
The merchants of the village set-up on the streets to showcase their wares and to use Mitchell Park for the demonstrations, exhibits and displays by museums, historical societies and cultural and educational groups. During the festival, there will also be special premium events aboard the ships and at other event locations and activities, as fundraising opportunities. |
