About Quogue Wildlife Refuge
Quogue Wildlife Refuge is to serve as a responsible land steward of the Refuge property and its natural resources, while promoting, implementing and supporting environmental education. Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 305-acre nature preserve nestled in the Village of Quogue. There are seven miles of nature trails located among a variety of habitats, including the Pine Barrens and deciduous forests, freshwater ponds, carnivorous and cranberry bogs, and the ecologically rare Dwarf Pines. The Refuge also serves as home to permanently injured, non-releasable wildlife, including a bald eagle, red fox, bobcat, owls, falcons and hawks. Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit organization dedicated to nature preservation and environmental education. The nature trails are open to the public from sunrise to sunset, free of charge, 365 days a year. |
