A garden festival celebrating the Genius of England featuring outstanding vendors offering rare and unusual plants, garden antiques, wonderful accessories for the home and garden plus children's activities.
Flower Arranging Class at 10:00AM ($40 per person; $30.00 for Madoo members). Flower arranging in the manner of Constance Spry, the preeminent British florist of the mid-20th C. taught by Lilee Fell Topiary Class 11AM ($40/ $30 for Madoo members)Garden designer Natash Hopkinson teaches how to shear, prune, and coerce plants into fantastic shapes a la Great Dixter. Lecture, Book Signing and Lunch 12noon ($60/ $50 for Madoo members) Hear Barbara Paul Robinson speak on her newly published book: Rosemary Verey: The Life and Lessons of A Legendary Gardener. Book signing to follow and box lunch included.
Madoo is rich with 20th Century literary and artistic history as well-framed poems by Koethe, Ashbery, Schuyler and Guest, who visited many times and composed some of their work here, letters from the likes of Georgia O'Keefe and Fairfield Porter, as well as the art work of many notables, including Mr. Dash's own.
Madoo has been described by the New York Times as "an ever-changing masterpiece". A leading European gardening publication cites it as "one of the ten best gardens in America". |
