Let's Get Pickled Together Workshop and Demonstration on Home Canning presented by The Hallockville Museum Farm. Two Sessions: 10:00AM-12:00PM or 1:00PM-3:00PM.
Gardeners got an early start planting this year and so it's not too early to learn about how to preserve the vegetables and fruits that will soon be ready.
Mark Vosburgh, a Hallockville Gardener, will present an informative and interactive program that will cover the basics of home canning. He is an expert canner and has won over 100 awards at competitions across New England and New York and has taught numerous canning classes across Long Island. Both experienced canners and newcomers alike will benefit from this easy to follow discussion.
Attendees will learn to can during the hands-on workshop. The featured recipe will be Garlic and Dill Pickles made with Kirby cucumbers. |
