The 16th Annual 5K Run for the Ridley Charity Benefit Fundraiser Event to Benefit the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation on Long Island, New York.
Join the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation in raising money to benefit the rehabilitation of cold-stunned sea turtles in the coastal waters of New York.
Eligibility
Open to runners and joggers of all ages.
5K Course
The Run starts on Main Street in Riverhead, goes through a quiet
residential neighborhood and finishes on McDermott Avenue. Race timed by Island Timing. USA Track and Field Certified.
Check-In
Easternmost end of Municipal Parking Lot adjacent to Peconic River. 8:00AM-9:30AM Ample parking.
Awards
Top 3 male and female overall, plus, top 3 male and female in the following categories: 9-under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.
Directions
From East: Take Route 25 West to Downtown Riverhead. Turn Left into Municipal Parking Lot at McDermott Avenue. From West: Take LIE to exit 72. Continue East on Route 25 into Downtown Riverhead. Turn Right into Municipal Parking Lot at McDermott Avenue.
Registration 2 Methods
Early registration is $17.00 if postmarked by October 19th, 2013.
Late registration between October 20-25, 2013 is $20.00.
Race day registration is $25.00. Event T-shirt to 1st 300 registered. Online at www.riverheadfoundation.org to qualify for prizes based on your personal fundraising efforts.

About The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation
The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization that operates the New York State Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program. The primary mission of the Riverhead Foundation is to preserve and protect our marine environment through education, rehabilitation, and research.
The Riverhead Foundation is located within the Atlantis Marine World aquarium, which is one of the primary supporters of the Riverhead Foundation's mission.
The Riverhead Foundation is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of seals, sea turtles, whales, dolphins, and porpoises. Some of these species are critically endangered and may become extinct in our lifetime. All are protected under New York State, Federal and in some cases, International Law. The Riverhead Foundation is the only organization authorized by New York State to carry on this important work in conserving the marine environment. The Riverhead Foundation’s Rescue Hotline is a 24-hour phone line the public may call when they discover an animal in need of our care. |
