Mark your calendars now for Saturday, July 20th, the date of Quogue Wildlife Refuge's 7th Annual Wild Night for Wildlife Benefit Gala, a fantastic fundraising event that celebrates the wonder and beauty of nature, as well as the Refuge's mission of promoting environmental awareness and education. Tickets and sponsorships for the 2013 Benefit are currently available by calling the Refuge Nature Center at 631-653-4771.
This year's gala will be held at the home of Paul and Jane Dietche in the Village of Quogue 7:00PM-10:00PM with an exclusive VIP hour at 6:00PM, featuring a historic house tour, for guests donating $750.00 or more per person. Typically attended by more than 500 guests, A Wild Night for Wildlife has earned a reputation of being the "fun fundraiser". Festivities for 2013, will include live music performed by The Times Square Orchestra; mouth-watering hors d'ouevres prepared by Buoy One; beer by Southampton Publick House; Tito's Handmade organic vodka, and wine by local vineyards. The live and silent auctions get better and better each year, with fantastic prizes, including a Meet and Greet with CNN's Anderson Cooper and custom-made birdhouses from area architects and builders. QWR is also pleased to welcome back ABC's Bill Ritter as Auctioneer. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the Refuge's resident animals.
About Quogue Wildlife Refuge
Quogue Wildlife Refuge is to serve as a responsible land steward of the Refuge property and its natural resources, while promoting, implementing and supporting environmental education. Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 305-acre nature preserve nestled in the Village of Quogue. There are seven miles of nature trails located among a variety of habitats, including the Pine Barrens and deciduous forests, freshwater ponds, carnivorous and cranberry bogs, and the ecologically rare Dwarf Pines. The Refuge also serves as home to permanently injured, non-releasable wildlife, including a bald eagle, red fox, bobcat, owls, falcons and hawks. Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit organization dedicated to nature preservation and environmental education. The nature trails are open to the public from sunrise to sunset, free of charge, 365 days a year. |
