Tolerance Benefit and Auction at Carlyle on The Green in Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale, Long Island, New York.
One of the most enjoyable benefits on Long Island, the event brings together leading philanthropists and community leaders to support the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center's emphasis on teaching children how to be Upstanders against hatred, intolerance and bullying. In addition to an exceptional atmosphere and sumptuous cocktail hour, this year's event features exciting new auction packages, vacation getaways, celebrity memorabilia, and much more! Two Friedlander Upstander Award Educational Scholarships will be presented to Long Island youth. 100% of proceeds from the evening will benefit the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center's education programs.
This year's Dinner Co-Chairs are Andrea Bolender and Erika Witover. Our Keynote Speaker and 2013 Community Upstander Award recipient is Elaine Wolf - the anti-bullying novelist best known for "Camp" and "Danny's Mom". We hope you will join us! If you are unable to attend, you may still purchase raffle tickets and bid on prizes to support the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County. About Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County
The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County is the pre-eminent Holocaust resource on Long Island, with a contemporary museum and is one of the largest and most comprehensive education program providers in the region. Housed in the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center is the Louis Posner Memorial Library home to over 7,000 volumes of Holocaust, genocide, multicultural, anti-bias and anti-bullying material for students and adults, from Kindergarten through post-graduate researchers. We offer the largest such collection on Long Island.
The Mission of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County is to teach the history of the Holocaust and its lessons through education and community outreach. We teach about the dangers of antisemitism, racism, bullying and all other manifestations of intolerance. We promote resistance to prejudice and advocate respect for every human being. |
