Easter Seals New York 2nd Annual Long Island Golf Outing at the Brookville Country Club.
Founded in 1919 by Ohio businessman Edgar F. Allen, Easter Seals began as a grassroots movement to help children with disabilities and their families access health care and support services.
Easters Seals New York provides a wide range of services throughout the New York state to help individuals with special needs gain greater independence. Services include early childhood education, special education, camping & recreation, inclusive child care, job training & placement, residential services and comprehensive medical services. Easter Seals New York provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.
90 cents out of every dollar raised goes directly to serving people in need. Easter Seals New York provided more than $1.5 million in free and subsidized programs in 2011 in order to uphold its commitment to providing the highest quality services to individuals in need.
In 2011, more than 650 children received high-quality education and therapeutic supports every day at Easter Seals New York's Child Development Centers in the Hudson Valley and New York City regions.
In 2011, Easter Seals New York served more than 18,000 individuals and their families across New York State through its various programs, services, events and community outreach efforts.
