23rd Annual Second Sight Bike-A-Thon to benefit Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind.
The 23rd annual Bike-a-thon Freedom Ride is a tour of Long Island's North Shore. Rides range from a 5-mile fun ride to a challenging 65-miles. Depending on the length of the route, riders will tour St. James, Head of the Harbor, Stony Brook, Old Field, Port Jefferson, Belle Terre, and points east. The 30-mile and under tours will be escorted by volunteer marshals from Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association. The 50-mile and over rides are unescorted. All riders are provided with cue sheets, and roads are marked along the route. Emergency Support Vehicles (SAG) can assist riders with difficulties. Rest/food/water stops are available along the routes. Helmets are required for all riders. |
