On Saturday, May 5, 2012, bladder cancer survivors, supporters and friends will be walking in Heckscher State Park, East Islip, NY 11730 to raise money for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) and their programs supporting bladder cancer research and education.
The walk on Long Island is being done in memory of Shelli Farris who passed away from bladder cancer.

Bladder cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, yet most people know nothing about it. Last year, over 70,000 people in the US were diagnosed with bladder cancer and over 14,000 people died from it.
What We Can Do
People across the country will be joining the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network to Walk for Bladder Cancer. We will be walking to raise money for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) and their programs supporting bladder cancer research and education.
Twenty miles of trails along the Great South Bay attracts more than a million visitors per year. |
