International Book Giving Day Celebrated at the Hampton Bays Public Library in Hampton Bays, Long Island, New York.
International Book Giving Day is a day dedicated to getting new, used and borrowed books in the hands of as many children as possible. We are celebrating this wonderful cause by displaying a "Book Giving Day" Swap Box in the Children's Room. We will cut the ribbons on the box officially opening it for donations on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 3:45PM (right before our Monday Movie; please join us for photos). Please bring in new or gently used books to add to the box this day and for the next four weeks. Then come back any day between February 11-15, 2013 every child that placed a book in the box may pick a different one from the box to keep for themselves. Please place a post-it note (we will provide them near the box) with a short message or good wishes for the lucky child who picks the book you donated. Make sure you show Miss Kelly and Miss Danielle the book you chose so we can take your picture with it. |
