All of our apple trees are grafted
on "size-controlling" rootstocks. In
other words they're "dwarfed" apple
trees - fruiting begins about 18"
from the ground. A perfect size tree
for small children. We grow
varieties that begin ripening late
August (Jersey Mac, Burgundy) and
continue till mid-October (Granny
Smith, Fuji). All apples are "pick
your own" from the orchard or pick
your own from our farm stand. NOTE
that we are a small orchard and
occasionally do close temporarily
when there is no ripe fruit to pick.
Class tours are available for
children in K to 2nd Grades. Call
for scheduling details.
One crop that is not pick your own
is our incredible honey which is
extracted from our hives and made
available at our farm stand. And
what about our bees? They do all of
our pollinating; and, busy bees that
they are, they supply us with plenty
of delicious honey. Some of our
customers claim that the honey they
buy from us has been very effective
in easing their allergies. We hope
so.
Only
pickers are permitted in the
orchard. There are no other
activities or picnicking.
