Description: |
New York State Safe Boating Course presented by Town of Southampton Bay Constables at the Hampton Bays Senior Center in Hampton Bays, Long Island, New York.
This course meets the NYS mandatory education requirements for both personal watercraft operators and young boat operators. Age: 10 years and older (Youths must be 10 years old by 4/1/13.
This comprehensive, interactive course combines group participation, hands-on activities and demonstrations. Topics include: general boating regulations, safety equipment, fire extinguishers, navigational rules, knot tying, basic seamanship, recreational boating activities and personal watercraft. In order to earn a certificate, class participants must attend all class sessions, complete the workbook assignments and receive 75% or better on the final exam. |
