Plein Air Landscape Summer Art Workshop at Teaching Studios of Art in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York. Two day workshop with Bennett Vadnais. 10AM-1:00PM, 2:00PM-5:00PM.
The goal of this workshop is to become familiar with the basic elements of creating landscape painting, with special importance placed on capturing light effects using a simple plein air method. Students will learn how to render a landscape, starting from its simplest elements and proceeding to finer details and relationships. Various aspects of landscape painting will be covered, depending on the level of each student. These will include understanding values, color relationships, perspective, drawing and different ways of handling pigment.
They will work on a light ground through defined stages including:
- Line drawing
- Color washes
- Solid painting
- Accents and details.
The course is suitable for beginners as well as advanced students. Both oil and acrylic painters are welcome.
