Join us for a conversation with award winning writer and artist Tina Andrews, who will discuss her artwork (on exhibit in April) and hand out free copies of her new book (first 40 people only). Free refreshments will be served.
Tina Andrews is an actress with a long career including movies, TV shows and plays. She is probably best remembered for her role as Valerie Grant on the popular soap opera "Days of Our Lives" - she played the role from 1975 to 1977. Andrews appeared as Aurelia in the critically acclaimed TV miniseries "Roots" (1977).
Tina made her debut as a screenwriter with the film "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" starring Halle Berry; the film brought Andrews a nomination for Best Screenplay at the 1999 Acapulco Black Film Festival. Tina is also an accomplished novelist, with her latest work "Charlotte Sophia: Myths, Madness and the Moor" receiving critical praise. Recently, Tina Andrews has found another way to express her artistic talents – painting. Tina prefers contemporary and abstract acrylic on canvas. Her works have been displayed in many galleries in the Hamptons and New York City. Tina’s exhibit "Life in the Abstract" will be on display at the Central Islip Library Galleria through April. |
