Description: |
Playing For Life - Southampton Animal Shelter presented by Aimee Sadler, SASF Director of Training and Behavior.
At the Southampton Animal Shelter, we strive to provide comprehensive and progressive training and behavior programs to bring out the best in our animals and reduces euthanasia. Allowing our shelter dogs to play in groups is the foundation of our life-saving program.
Some of the benefits of group play are:
- Mental and physical energy burned through intense social interaction
- Decreased territorial behavior within the shelter
- Decreased on-leash reactivity to other dogs
- Increased attention and focus in training
- Increased volunteer participation and support
- Rapid behavior modification for fearful and aroused dogs
- Staff's time-resource maximized
The morning Power Point presentation is packed with over an hour of video, providing a stimulating and entertaining visual package for attendees.
The afternoon session will be a 100% hands-on demonstration of play groups and the introduction of new dogs into groups. |
