"Medicine: Past, Present and Future Academic Program " Kick-Off Launch Dinner
on March 31, 2011 at 6:00PM at Ward Melville Heritage
Organization’s Educational and Cultural Center, 97P Main
Street, Stony Brook Village, NY 11790. Evolving from the
highly successful "Medicine: Past, Present and Future"
program at the historic Thompson House, c. 1709, the Ward
Melville Heritage Organization is hosting an unprecedented
series of forums with renowned scientists and medical
professionals who will guide visitors through an
extraordinary journey in the field of medicine.
The distinguished list of speakers is as impressive and
timely as the topics and specialists in their fields are
represented from Stony Brook University Medical Center as
well as Beth Israel Hospital and the Smithsonian
Institution. Kicking off the program at a launch dinner on
March 31 at 6 pm will be Stony Brook University President,
Dr. Samuel L. Stanley Jr. who will speak about the origin of
disease and today’s enhanced defense against it through
modern technology. John Kominicki, President and Publisher
of Long Island Business News will serve as the moderator.
